Does it Matter if I’m Trying to Finance a Used Car vs. a New Car?

The only difference between financing a new Nissan Altima or a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan Rogue for sale, is the amount of money you’ll be financing—new cars usually cost more.

With either type of purchase, the experts in our finance department will help you figure out your best options for the vehicle you choose. They can even run the numbers for both a new model or a certified pre-owned version if you’d like to compare.

What Will I Have to Do to Apply for Financing?

An application is the first step. You can either fill one out at the dealership, or you can do it from your couch with our online finance application.

To get you into that new Nissan Altima, you’ll need the basic information, like your name and address. You’ll also fill out your financial information—what your income is, and what your current obligations are (mortgages, rents, etc.).

From there, our finance department will review your application, check your credit history, consider your budget concerns and the vehicle you’d like to finance, and will match you with lenders who will be a good fit. We’ll handle all the paperwork.

Will I Be Able to Afford the Monthly Payments?

We’ll work with you to make sure you can, but if you’d like some idea before you head in to talk with us, we have a payment calculator online to help you figure out monthly payments for a new car.

Enter the loan amount you’re considering, how much of a down payment you’ll be making, if you have a trade-in value, the total amount of time you’d prefer to make payments, and the interest rate with which you think you’ll be working. Press “calculate” and your approximate monthly payments will pop up. If the amount is too high, or you think you can afford more, you can adjust any of the numbers to see where you’ll land.
