The biggest difference between these two Nissan SUVs is that the 2023 Nissan Murano comes in four trims, whereas the 2024 model offers three. The “missing trim” is the entry-level Nissan Murano S, which was discontinued after the 2023 model year. This has nothing to do with quality or performance, though – the 2023 Nissan Murano S is a well-equipped trim offering high-end standard features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, satellite radio, and dual-zone automatic climate control.  

The other difference is a bit more subtle: it involves the midrange 2024 Nissan Murano SL, which for the 2024 model year adds a panoramic moonroof to its standard features list.  

What Do These Models Have in Common? 

The 2024 and 2023 Nissan Murano have plenty in common. For starters, both models feature the same powertrain: a 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). This robust engine achieves 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque and delivers EPA-estimated gas mileage of 23 mpg combined.
