When it comes to picking a great car, there’s a lot to consider. Even when choosing between different Nissan cars, drivers need to consider everything from size and features to drive experience to long term economics. That last one can be particularly tricky to nail down, which is why the experts at the Automotive Science Group (ASG) have stepped in. The research group specializes in lifecycle, data-driven research, and every year conducts an Automotive Performance Index study to select the top new vehicles in each of 11 categories.

This year, an impressive four Nissan models were named winners in the 2019 Automotive Performance Index study. The 2019 Nissan Kicks dominated the compact crossover segment to earn the “Best Economic Performance” award. In fact, the study found that the compact SUV maintains an overall cost that is 36% less than the average in its class. The 2019 Nissan Rogue was also awarded a “Best Economic Performance” honor in the competitive mid-size SUV category, with the ASG experts particularly noting its outstanding fuel economy. In the mid-large size car segment, which consisted of 434 model variants, the 2019 Nissan LEAF rose to the top to win a “Best 5 All-Around Performance” award. The 2019 Nissan Versa also won a “Best 5 All-Around Performance” award, beating out 335 model variants in the small car category.
