It’s that time of year again! College football has kicked off for another season and the Nissan brand is announcing its updated Nissan Diehard Fan app for the 2016 season. It’s time for fans to unleash their inner fanatic. Bedford Nissan is pleased to see that the app includes Ohio State University and Xavier University representing the dealership’s region as part of the app.
The Nissan Diehard Fan app invites college sports fans to virtually paint their game face using a smartphone or tablet (iOS and select Android devices). The face paint app offers new designs, 3-D animated cheers, and a public “Fan Gallery” and now includes Michigan State, Notre Dame, San Diego State, and University of Hawaii. In addition, there is a sweepstakes opportunity for a chance to win a customized Nissan TITAN wrapped in a fan’s favorite team colors.
The augmented reality app combines a time-tested fan tradition of face painting in team colors with innovative technology to deliver an immersive digital experience sure to excite sports fans. Each face paint was hand painted on human models by a world-champion face painter, and then digitally re-mastered to produce the most realistic look possible.
The app allows fans to engage with Nissan and its College 100 Sponsorship of men’s and women’s college sports programs throughout the U.S. Fans can browse team-specific cheers by swiping up or down, selecting one, and watching it appear. Besides sharing via social media, users can also upload their Diehard Fan pictures and videos to a public “Fan Gallery” housed within the app. This new features allows fans to browse other photos and support their favorite team with like-spirited fans from across the country.
The Nissan brand is also launching a new sweepstakes to kick-off to college football season. Take a turn at virtually customizing a Nissan TITAN for a chance to win that custom-wrapped truck in your team’s colors!
