Nissan Service

Most people know that their car needs regular service. However, they are often confused about when to get it. Our Nissan service center aims to clear up any confusion with this guide:

Oil Changes

Most people focus on mileage when it comes to oil changes. While important, there is another key factor involved: time. Regardless of how much you drive, you should aim to have the oil changed twice per year.

As for mileage, every 5,000-10,000 miles is typically the recommendation, depending on your vehicle and the type of oil you use.

Fluids Top-Offs

Aside from the oil flowing through your engine, many other systems in your car require fluid, including the brakes, transmission, and power steering. In order to work properly, these fluids need to be at the right levels, which is why they should be checked every few months.

Brake Inspection

In addition to checking your brake fluid, the overall system needs to be closely inspected annually. Parts like shoes and pads wear down over time, and proactively replacing them will help improve safety.

Tire Checks

Because tire pressure can fluctuate based on the temperature, you should make a point to check your PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) every couple of months or so. And to ensure that your tires have as long a lifespan as possible, they need to be rotated about every six months.

Battery Tests

You should have your battery tested on a yearly basis. This will give you a very good idea of how much juice it has left and whether or not you will need to think about soon getting a new one.

If you need any of these maintenance tasks done, make an appointment with the service center at Bedford Nissan.
