If you’re in the market for a new sedan, we may be able to help narrow down your choices. In four key areas, here you can see how the Nissan Maxima and Honda Accord compare to one another:

Power

The Nissan Maxima has an impressively powerful engine: it’s a 3.5-liter V6 that pumps out 300 horsepower. The base Honda Accord only produces 192 horsepower from its 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. Even the available 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine only generates 252 horsepower.

Comfort

Five people will have no problem fitting in the Nissan Maxima, and the front row is especially roomy. This sedan comes with numerous standard comfort features, including an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and leather upholstery. A heated steering wheel and a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat are also available. The only notable standard feature with the Honda Accord is cloth upholstery; anything else requires an upgrade.

Tech

Every Nissan Maxima comes with the NissanConnect® infotainment system that is very easy to use. In addition to the eight-inch touchscreen, it can be operated with physical buttons. Other standard features include:

  • An eight-speaker stereo
  • Satellite radio
  • Android Auto™
  • Apple CarPlay®
  • Bluetooth®
  • A Wi-Fi hot spot
  • Two USB ports
  • Navigation

While the Honda Accord comes with some of the same features, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and navigation aren’t among them.

Safety

The Nissan Maxima was built with safety in mind. It comes with numerous features to help keep you safe, such as:

  • Forward collision warning
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Traffic sign recognition
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane-departure warning
  • Driver attention monitoring
  • Rear cross-traffic alert

The list of standard safety features in the Honda Accord is much smaller, and it doesn’t include blind spot monitoring or rear cross-traffic alert.
